The province of Cavite does not only abound with historic sites, landmarks and museums but it is home to a number of Filipino heroes and a range of interesting sites related to the Philippine Revolution.
Cavite also teems with natural resources and unique landscapes. One of its famous tourist destinations – Tagaytay City which is situated at about 2,500 feet above sea level and its highway drive offers a breathtaking view of the world-famous Taal Volcano and Lake.
Cavite hailed from the local word “Kawit” meaning hook because of the hook-shaped land mass recorded on old Spanish maps.
