A hidden gem in Patag: Ilaya Highland Resort

If you want to enjoy a balance of nature but having the convenience of a modern lifestyle living, then, we recommend Ilaya Highland Resort. Located in the deep mountains of Patag, a 40 minute drive away from Bacolod North Bus Terminal.

The place provides hotel-like amenities and services featuring their villa rooms with balinese inspired interiors, an A/C, a heater shower as well as a receiving and lounge area.

You will also find an infinity pool that is lit up at night and connected to a drinking bar.  If you want more of an outback setting but remain comfortable at the same time you will love their glamping area which is their newest attraction.

Their glamping area consists of canopy tents mounted on platforms with wooden planks and cement structure for better support.  Inside the tent is a large bed good for 2 people and the place is spacious enough for additional persons.  Just like with their villa rooms, they provide towels, with shelf and towel racks,  a cooling fan to make up for the humid temperature inside the tent, a wood reel that serves as table as well as free toothbrushes, toothpaste and a free bottled water for each guest.  The beddings and pillows are comfortable, crisp and smells of the sun.  There is also a balcony outside the tent with wooden table and chairs, a perfect place for when you wake up early in the morning and have your breakfast and hot coffee.  There are several toilets, shower rooms and a washing area located near the tents.  They also made a bonfire area for the glampers with wooden chairs surrounding a fire pit made of stones.

Outside food is not allowed because they have their own cafe & restaurant inside.  The Ilaya restaurant is one of their main features as they have their own chef and professional barista in the house.

They serve different kinds of pizza and pasta menu, burgers and sandwiches as well as coffee and non-coffee based drinks, fruit shakes and frappes.  They also serve breakfast, lunch or dinner  and they have their own catering service if you want to rent the place for an event.

Their food, although costly compared to other resorts, is definitely worth the price but preparation could take longer than usual if they are catering to many guests at once, so it is best to inform the staff ahead of time of your preferred menu.

The amenities they provide for the comfort of the guests surely is not tailored for the budget traveler. Still, this is one of the hidden gems in Patag that is great for those who can afford a glamorous staycation.

Overnight stays are available upon reservation but they also accept day visits for a minimum fee of P200/person for the entrance fee and it comes with a complimentary drink for every guest with a choice of hot native coffee or a refreshing calamansi and blue ternate tea.
