We left Silay City at around 7:00 am and reached Lakawon Port after a one hour and 30 minute drive which would have been less if we did not miss a turn at Brgy. Burgos Cadiz City. Once we reached the port at Cadiz Viejo, Hannah proceeded to register our names and bought our boat tickets. We paid Php700.00 each inclusive of the entrance fee, terminal fee, roundtrip boat ride, cottage and floating bar. The boat ride took less than 20 minutes and there were already a lot of guests who were there ahead of us. We were greeted with the island’s white sandy beach and cool breeze. We found a cottage to settle down our things and after a short break, we ate lunch and went on with our business.
A few minutes later, the ladies changed into their swimming attire and strolled along the beach looking for the best spots to do their photo sessions. The place has made quite a lot of improvements compared to last time we went there before the pandemic, with their additional cottages and several infrastructures.
Guests can camp for the night and they also have hotel rooms but were not in operation during the time of our visit. Visitors are advised to bring their own food because the restaurant is currently closed and there is limited food in the island.
There are also a lot of activities you can choose from but we were not able to try, like the UFO, flying fish, banana boat, paddle board, kayaking and bandwagon.
We went to the smaller version of tawhai floating bar and spent the remaining hours there. We encouraged the ladies to try jumping off board from the 2nd floor of the boat and we all did. They had their moment of adrenaline rush and everyone had a great time before going back home.
